MCA Ends 2025 on a High Note

The Ministry of Communication and Aviation (MCA) on Monday 15^th December, 2025 hosted its 2025 End Year Function within its Hibiscus Avenue Road Office Building Compound, marking the conclusion of a year of significant achievements, progress and overcoming of challenges in the nation’s Communication and Aviation sectors.

The event brought together staff from MCA and their families, Government Officers from other Ministries, Staff from State Owned Enterprises and Regulatory bodies affiliated to MCA and officials from Contracting Companies that worked in partnership with MCA on infrastructure Development Projects taking place in the Communication and Aviation Sectors. Among the Event’s VIPs are the Chief Executive Officers and Directors of these SOE’s and Regulating Bodies as well as the Project Managers of these Contracting Companies.

The event was honoured by the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister who is also the Minister of the Communication and Aviation Ministry, Honourable Fredrick Kologeto.

Delivering the Events Welcome Remarks, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Alwyn Danitofea further extended his words of welcome to commend and acknowledge the Management and staff of MCA’s affiliated SOE’s and Regulatory Bodies for their part in carrying out their mandated functions to support the Ministry of Communication and Aviation in improving and enhancing the delivery of Communication and Aviation services in the Solomon Islands. These include:

• Strengthening Aviation safety and compliance with international standards.
• Expanding digital connectivity initiatives to improve access across the Solomon Islands.
• Advancing infrastructure projects that enhance both Communication services and air transport efficiency.

Mr. Danitofea also expressed sincere appreciation to the Contracting Companies whose support in Communication and Aviation development projects has been vital to advancing the Ministry’s effort of progressing and implementing these projects for the good and benefit of Solomon Islanders.

Finally, the Permanent Secretary thanked the staff of the Ministry of Communication and Aviation for their dedication, contributions and hard-work throughout 2025 in fulfilling their official duties and responsibilities, upon which the Ministry is driven forward in its operations and commitment to engage in effective and efficient service delivery.

As the Ministry looks ahead to 2026, it remains steadfast in its mission to connect communities, strengthen aviation standards and drive digital transformation for the benefit of all Solomon Islanders.

The event was a success with entertainment from a live band and presentation of Christmas Carols.

The Christmas song, “Come o ring the bells, light the Christmas Tree’’ was presented harmoniously by the Ministry of Communication and Aviation.
