26 RSIPF officers promoted to senior ranks

Twenty-six officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) were promoted to senior ranks during the Commissioner’s Official Parade held at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara on 28 May 2026.

The promotions included 11 non-commissioned officers (NCO’s), seven inspectors, seven superintendents, and one superintendent who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operations.

Among the 26 officers promoted, six were female officers, reflecting the RSIPF’s continued commitment to gender inclusion and leadership development within the organisation.

Speaking during the parade, RSIPF Commissioner, Ian Vaevaso, congratulated the officers and reminded them of the responsibilities that come with their new ranks.

“Now that you have your new ranks vested on your shoulders, remember that it comes with greater responsibilities and discipline to lead and serve our people. Take courage in yourselves and carry out your duties with confidence,” Commissioner Vaevaso said.

“I look forward to working with you all and wish you the very best as you continue to serve the people of Solomon Islands.”

Commissioner Vaevaso said the promotions marked an important milestone for both the RSIPF and the country, as the newly promoted officers’ step into higher leadership roles within the organisation.

“These promotions are significant for the RSIPF and the people of Solomon Islands. The future of the RSIPF is vested on your shoulders,” he said.

He added that the officers’ commitment, dedication, and performance had earned them advancement to the next stage of their policing careers.

“Leadership comes with responsibilities, and responsibilities come with challenges. However, by working together as a team, we can achieve our goals.”

Commissioner Vaevaso wished them success in their future careers within the RSIPF.
