2025 Easter Greetings from the Office of the Commissioner, Correctional Service of Solomon Islands

To. The Head of State, Prime Minister, Ministers of the Crown, Honourable Members of Parliament, Heads and Members of Diplomatic Missions, Constitutional Post Holders, Social and Economic Development Partners, Premiers, Lord Mayor, Provincial Assembly Members, Honiara City Council Members, SICA and SIFGA Church Leaders, Non-Governmental Organizations, Community Traditional Leaders, Media, Women, Youth, Children, Farmers, Fishermen, Patients in Rural and Urban Hospitals, People Living with Disabilities, Senior Executive Members of the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands, Commandants, Directors, Officers of all ranks and their families, our brothers and sisters in correctional centres across the country, and our fellow citizens at home and abroad.

As we celebrate this Easter, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to God, who has guided us with hope, providence, and wisdom. This season of renewal and redemption is a time to reflect on the grace and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

I sincerely encourage church ministries, the government, and stakeholders to reach out to our brothers and sisters in correctional centres with the Gospel. Christ’s sacrifice was for all, and God desires to transform lives, including those men and women in our care.

Easter reminds us that Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us all, including the inmates in all Correctional Centres across the country. Let this be a time for them to rejoice by putting away malice and evil and seeking forgiveness with sincere and contrite hearts.

“May the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ fill the hearts of our brothers and sisters in Correctional Centres with hope and purpose during this Easter season.”

Easter is also a call for transformation. It serves as a reminder to our inmates to turn away from past transgressions and embrace virtuous lives. Within the walls of many prisons, challenges persist, but we pray that God grants each inmate a sense of agency—the strength to be agents of change in their own lives and communities.

By the grace of God, may this Easter season bring confidence, joy, and renewed hope for a brighter future. Let us walk in faith, trust in His continuous guidance, and strive for peace and unity in our nation.
