UNDP Gov4Res Learning Initiative and Analysis Solomon Islands (LIASI) training program for senior public service leaders hosted in collaboration with IPAM

LIASI is a 3-months leadership training program that commenced on the 21st July, 2026, and will be completed at the end of September. The program brings together is a learning community of senior public servant leaders to exchange ideas, reflect on their leadership, challenge assumptions, reflect on practices and explore new approaches, to leading across organizational boundaries. The core leadership concepts explored include systems and resilience thinking, adaptive, inclusive and value-based leadership, and mentorship for institutional resilience. This leadership training is different from traditional leadership trainings – its practical, focused on real problems faced by leaders and offers practical solutions that leaders can implement immediately.
The training was designed to help senior leaders lead differently. It provides a practical learning space where experienced leaders developed a shared
understanding of complexity, learn from one another’s real-world experience, and apply high-level leadership insights to solve cross-government challenges.
The training will cover 6 modules over 6 sessions, and will be completed by the end of September. The training is still ongoing. The lead training designer and facilitator is Dr Kristina Fidali Hickie, a consultant with Gov4Res, UNDP. In delivering the program, she is joined by a number of highly qualified Solomon Islanders in the likes of Professor Dr Kabini Sanga, from the Victoria
University of Wellington (VUW), Professor Dr Transform Aqorau, Vice Chancellor of Solomon Islands National University (SINU), and Ms Ana Laqeretabua, a consultant, and certified Maxwell Leadership trainer joining online from Fiji.
The participants for this training cohort come from six different ministries. IPAM is sincerely appreciates the GOV4Res program for making this leadership training available to the public servants. The LIASI program is still ongoing. The final sessions will be completed in September, 2026.
