SOLOMON ISLANDS FEATURED ON ABU DHABI LIVE TV
Solomon Islands together with other relevant information about our Happy Isles was revealed for the very first time on Live Television by Solomon Islands Deputy Commissioner General and Expo 2020 Pavilion Director Mr Dennis Marita when he appeared on Abu Dhabi TV on Monday 1st November.
Watched by an audience of more than 10 million viewers on the Arabic Channel, DCG Marita confidently answered questions ranging from our geographical location, language, natural resources, our unique cultures and traditions and Climate Change.
The 10 minute Live Broadcast also gave DCG Marita the opportunity to explain the common narratives that is now being used by our Team Solo at the Expo 2020 which reflects upon our religious connections to Sulaimān ibn Dāwūd (Solomon son of David) who according to the Quran, was a Malik (King) and Nabī (Prophet) of the Israelites.
Islamic tradition generally holds that he was the third King of the Jewish people, and wise ruler for the nation.
“Whenever members of the Arab Community would enter our Pavilion, they would immediately recognise the word ‘Solomon’ and call out the name ‘Sulaimān, and it shows that they have something to connect to with our people in terms of the history that they are aware of’.
DCG Marita looks forward to utilizing well established Media platforms such as Abu Dhabi TV as a Marketing strategy to reach out more to the Middle East Region.
