In a proactive move to fortify confidence and capacity building in the Ombudsman office, Principal investigation officer, Mr Philip Manetohua from the Ombudsman’s office recently participated in an Integrity Professional Foundations training programme held in Port Moresby from May 2nd to 3rd 2024, alongside counterparts from various institutions in Solomon Islands and PNG .
Facilitated by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with Griffith University of Australia, the programme aims to equip officers with advanced skills essential for combating corruption and addressing instances of bad administrative conduct.
The participation of the Ombudsman’s office in this training initiative underscores the institution’s dedication to enhancing its capacity in the ongoing fight against corruption and maladministration.
