Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) Senior Executive Management and staff successfully held its 2021 Christmas party with heaps of excitement, laughter including singing and dance performances by each programs and divisions within MHMS, over the weekend.
The event was delayed from December last year to this month due to urgent need to respond to COVID-19 then but also to uphold COVID-19 preventative measure – avoiding mass gathering and maintaining social distancing.
Speaking at the event Health Permanent Secretary Mrs. Pauline McNeil used the occasion to thank all MHMS staff for their hard work and dedication to serving health needs of the people and commitment to continue improving health services and public health programs across the country.
“I take my hat off in salutation to each and everyone one of you including our medical team at NRH and provincial health teams out in the provinces as well. You all have done well and despite the delay of holding this event, it was necessary as we were responding to COVID- 19 entry and community spread”,
“Tonight we put all our work aside and take the time to share the joy and happiness of being work collegues, friends and family. So let us all enjoy and come back refreshed next to continue with our mandate that is to serve well the health needs of our people and country”, said Mrs. McNeil.
Mrs. McNeil also expressed sincere thank you to health donors and partners, including private business firms, Non-Government Organizations, churches, communities for continued support towards the work of health stating that a lot of achievements and success is because of the support received.
In concluding her remarks, she thanked individuals, private business firms whom have come out to support the event stating that their support has made the Christmas in July event for health possible but also a great success. “Thank you from our hearts”.
