Australian High Commissioner Visits KCC
The Management, staff and inmates of Kirakira Correctional Centre (KCC) welcome’s the Australian High Commissioner His Excellency Mr Rod Hilton and his Delegation at the Correctional Centre facility on 12 June 2023 as part of his official visit to Makira Ulawa Province.
His Excellency do met with the Commandant and staff of KCC and a fruitful discussion on matters of the Centre been deliberated and made known to the visiting delegation.
He revealed to the Correctional Officers that security is important for economic development in Makira Ulawa Province and your mandated roles and responsibilities are to maintain security, safety and stability in the Province.
His Excellency highlighted that the Centre priority issues will be referred to the Justice Program to look into.
He acknowledge and thank the KCC Management and Staff for their good work done in ensuring the Centre operations runs smoothly.
KCC Commandant Michael Koroa thanked His Excellency Rod Hilton for his official visit to the Centre to see for himself the infrastructure development issues and challenges faced on day to day operations of the Centre.
