The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources this morning launched its brand new website.
Speaking on the occasion, Permanent Secretary Dr Christain Ramofafia said the new website gives the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources to the opportunity to show case its work to the world. “This website will serve as our platform to showcase who we are, to share our core business programmes. Our achievements, our responsibilities, our obligations, our commitments to the fisheries sector and to the people of our country will now be shared with others beyond our borders,” he said.
Dr Ramofafia further said that the website will also serve as a learning platform for our high school students and university students who have interests in fisheries. This is possible because resources will be available online and the website will be accessible globally.
“These are the potentials we have with this new platform. The website will assist us to communicate better and to serve our clients more effectively,” he said.
He encourages the stakeholders, partners, investors and people to visit the website and provide feedback on how the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources can serve them better.
The launching of the website closes the end of a two-year project that started in late 2019 and progressed through 2020. The project which was contracted to Solguide Ltd was supported by a MFMR in-house project team with continuous support and guidance provided by ICTSU and Solomon Telekom.
