CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) IN LABOUR APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING

The national Labour Apprenticeship Training program under this Ministry of Commerce, Industries, Labour and Immigration (MCILI) is inviting interested applicants for its four years Apprenticeship training program at Solomon Islands National University (SINU), Faculty of Science and Technology.  The training is expected to start in semester one of 2027 for the occupational trades in (1) Building and Construction, (2) Electrical, (3) Plumbing and Allied trades, (4) Light Motor Vehicle Mechanic, (5) Heavy Vehicle & Plant Mechanic and (6) Marine Engineering. Thirty (30) successful applicants from each of the six above mentioned trades will be enrolled and supported with their tuition at SINU and related training needs.

Interested applicant should meet the following requirements;

• 18 years and above (male or female)
• Minimum completion of Form five secondary education with SISC & transcript
• Prior completion of RTC or VTC training with Labour NTTT Certificate including the above two requirements will have an advantage.
• At least two years working in related industry(ies) and have completed Form 5 secondary education.

The submitted application should include;

•  Cover letter stating your area of training interest with phone contacts.
•  Current Curriculum Vitae
•  If currently working (recommendation letter from employer)
•  Certified copies of certificates and transcripts
•  2 Passport size certified photo.
•  Copy of Birth certificate.

EOI applications must be delivered in sealed envelope and addressed to:

Application submission begins 8^th Sept and will close on 30^th September 2026.  Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Only approved short listed candidates will be contacted for further screening and interviews.
