Police appeal to the public to remain calm and continue with business as usual during the MoNC.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is appealing to the general public to remain calm and refrain from unlawful activities during the Motion of No Confidence (MoNC) process in parliament.
The appeal came after a notice of MoNC had been submitted to parliament against PM Wale by the former home affairs minister, Manasseh Maelanga, on 29 August 2026.
Acting Commissioner of RSIPF Mr James Aitorea appeals to the members of the public to stay calm while the process takes its course, allowing politicians to do their mandated duties.
Mr Aitorea is emphasising the importance of maintaining law and order, urging citizens to uphold and maintain order during the political process. The RSIPF will continue to provide security at its level.
He said police will closely monitor the process of MoNC to ensure public safety and maintain law and order to a high standard.
It is crucial for citizens to work with our police force for a calm and peaceful democratic political process.
