RSIPF, CPLT and NZ Police engage youth in Tina Community

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), in partnership with the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) and the New Zealand Police (NZP), successfully conducted a youth-focused community outreach program at the Tina community in Central Guadalcanal.

The initiative focused on critical legal awareness, specifically targeting drug prevention and the fight against domestic violence.

During the session, officers from the Crime Prevention Committees (CPCs) engaged directly with community representatives, providing professional guidance and responding to various concerns raised by the local youth and leaders.

Superintendent Lin Qifeng of the CPLT addressed the gathering, emphasizing the theme, “To Uphold Belief and Virtues.” Drawing on traditional Chinese values, Superintendent Lin encouraged the participants to foster strong moral character and integrity as a foundation for rejecting illicit drugs and maintaining peaceful, violence-free homes.

Following the formal sessions, the CPLT demonstrated their ongoing commitment to the community by donating schoolbags, pencil cases, and torches. These supplies were presented to students and CPC members as a gesture of support for their educational pursuits and community safety efforts.

Representing the community, a local youth representative expressed sincere appreciation to the RSIPF and the CPLT for their generous support and for prioritizing the wellbeing of the Tina community.

The RSIPF, alongside its partners from the CPLT and NZP, remains steadfast in its commitment to working closely with communities across the Solomon Islands to strengthen local policing partnerships and promote a safer, more secure environment for all.
