On behalf of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, We wish to extend our warmest greetings to all Solomon Islanders as we celebrate 48 years of nationhood.
This special occasion is a time to give thanks to Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and abundant blessings upon our country. It is also a time to reflect on the journey we have travelled together as one nation and to renew our commitment to building a stronger, more resilient and prosperous Solomon Islands.
As an island nation blessed with one of the richest marine environments in the world, our fisheries resources remain a cornerstone of our economy, for food security and the livelihoods of our people. These resources are a national inheritance entrusted to our care, and it is our shared responsibility to manage and protect them wisely for future generations.
The Ministry remains committed to ensuring that our fisheries sector delivers lasting benefits to all Solomon Islanders through sustainable management, responsible development, value addition, stronger community participation and increased economic opportunities. We will continue working closely with our provincial governments, customary resource owners, fishing communities, the private sector, regional organisations and development partners to achieve these goals.
As we commemorate another year of independence, let us embrace the values of unity, integrity, hard work and stewardship. Together, we can safeguard our marine resources, strengthen our blue economy and create a brighter future for our children.
May this Independence Anniversary inspire each of us to contribute positively towards the growth and development of our beloved nation.
From shore to shore, may God bless Solomon Islands, our people and our abundant oceans.
Happy 48th Independence Anniversary.
God Bless Solomon Islands.
