Recognition of Creativity as part of the Coral Triangle Day 2026 celebration: Senior Secondary School Poster Competition Announced
Honiara, 24 June 2026 — The Senior Secondary School Poster Competition in commemoration of the annual Coral Triangle Day 2026 has concluded which showcased creativity and innovation from participants. The focused of the Poster Competition was around the Coral Triangle Day 2026 theme which is “Accelerating Marine Biodiversity Conservation, supporting coastal communities, and advancing a Sustainable Blue Economy”.
The competition, which target senior secondary school students showcased remarkable creativity, innovation, and artistic skill. The winners pronounced following the careful evaluation by the judging panel are as follows:
1st Place- Ben Crisbas, Koloale School – awarded for their outstanding poster creativity, originality and visual impact
2nd Place -Timothy Leong, Koloale School – recognized for their creative design and compelling message.
3rd Place- Albert A, St. Nicholas School – honored for their unique artistic approach
The competition highlighted the importance of visual impact and storytelling in advocating for ocean and coral reef protection and inspiring action. The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management & Meteorology expressed its gratitude to the participants and encourages other school students and general public to participate in similar organized events in the future.
“We are thrilled to see such young talent and passion reflected in this year’s entries. The posters not only express creative excellence but also convey meaningful messages that resonate with our connections to the environment, marine ecosystems and ocean,” said Director of Environment & Conservation Division.
Winners formally receive their winning prize and certificates for their poster submissions on Thursday 25th June 2026 from 1pm-3pm at Edgar Hall, Aquatic Center, National Sports Centre at KGVI during another organized school related event.
