CSSI farewells Mechanic Apprentices after successful attachment
The Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) officially farewelled four mechanic apprentices at the CSSI Headquarters over the weekend. The four apprentices have successfully completed a six-month attachment program with the CSSI Transport and Garage Unit, contributing to essential mechanical services and gaining valuable hands-on experience.
Deputy Commissioner Administration Mr. Chris Bwekulyi acknowledged the apprentices for their commitment and positive attitude throughout the program:
On behalf of the Commissioner, Executive, and the Garage Team, “I extend our sincere appreciation to all of you for your dedication during your attachment. This program is an investment in the future workforce, and your willingness to learn and adapt demonstrates the quality of skilled professionals our nation is building. The knowledge and experience you gained here will serve you well in your careers, and we encourage you to continue striving for excellence.”
“Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and positive attitude. You will be greatly missed, but your impact will continue to be felt in our department for years to come. We wish you both success as you move forward in your careers.”
On behalf of the Apprentices, Mr. Thomas Tarai thanked the CSSI leadership and staff for their unwavering support during their attachment:
“We sincerely thank the Commissioner, Executive, and all CSSI officers for the guidance and support provided during our practical experience. We have truly benefited and learned a great deal from working alongside your highly skilled mechanics. Our special appreciation also goes to the Commandant of Transport and Garage and the entire Logistics Team for their encouragement and assistance over the past six months.”
The six-month attachment program forms part of CSSI’s commitment to support skills development and technical capacity building in partnership with national training initiatives. Such programs not only provide practical learning opportunities for apprentices but also strengthen CSSI’s engagement with the community in nurturing future tradespeople.
