RSIPF Commissioner Welcomes Newly Appointed Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara conducted a Royal Guard of Honour Parade to officially welcome the newly appointed Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Honourable John Jnr Tuhaika on 28 May 2026.
During the ceremony, RSIPF Commissioner Mr Ian Vaevaso delivered his remarks, congratulating the Honourable Minister on his appointment and expressing the Force’s commitment to supporting his leadership.
Commissioner Vaevaso stated that the Guard of Honour was held as a demonstration of the respect, loyalty, and commitment of all RSIPF officers to the new Minister for Police.
In his address, Commissioner Vaevaso said, “We explicitly pledge the unwavering loyalty, dedication, and commitment of the RSIPF to you as Minister, to the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services, and to our new Government. The RSIPF stands ready to align its operations with the GREAT Government Policy Priorities that will guarantee national stability.”
Mr Vaevaso further stated that the RSIPF is fully prepared to implement the Government’s security priorities and is committed to working closely with the Minister to build a more transparent, disciplined, and responsive police force that serves all citizens with integrity and professionalism.
Commissioner Vaevaso concluded his remarks by wishing the Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services every success in his new role. He reaffirmed the RSIPF’s commitment to fostering a strong working relationship and partnership under the Minister’s leadership for the benefit of the people and the nation.
