RAPPP Supports Facility upgrades for RSIPF Recruit Training

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), with support from the RSIPF-Australian Federal Police Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), has officially welcomed 105 new police recruits this week as they begin their training journey to serve communities across Solomon Islands (SI).

The new intake will undertake training through the RSIPF Learning and Development (L&D) Department, with RAPPP continuing to work alongside RSIPF to support recruit training and development.

In preparation for the arrival of the recruits, RAPPP advisors worked closely with RSIPF counterparts, including the Learning and Development Department and Property Infrastructure Department (PID), to ensure training facilities and accommodation were ready to support the large intake.

As part of this support, refurbishment works were carried out at the Rove barracks and classroom facilities to improve the training environment for recruits.

This included maintenance and repair works, additional furniture for accommodation areas, and upgrades to classroom spaces to ensure they are properly equipped to cater for all 105 recruits.

RAPPP also supported the provision of recruit uniforms and fitness gear to ensure recruits are well prepared as they commence their training.

The recruits will be accommodated at the Rove barracks throughout the duration of their course while attending lessons and practical training sessions at the upgraded facilities.

RSIPF and RAPPP continue to work in partnership to strengthen policing capability, infrastructure, and training development, supporting the growth of a professional and capable police force for SI.
