Road Construction Works – Drainage Works at Central Business District Areas (CBD)
The public is advised that drainage works along the seaside section at Central Business District (CBD) areas will be carried out according to the following schedule:
- May 14 –16, 2026 – In front of Alvaro Building
- May 17–19, 2026 – In front of the Old Guadalcanal Headquarters
- May 20 –22, 2026 – Seaside eastern section of the Hot Bread Roundabout
The works will involve the construction of drainage pits and the installation of stormwater pipes.
In connection with these works, the public is further advised of the following:
- The outer (seaside) lane will be closed to traffic. Eastbound vehicles will be required to use the inner lane.
- The work area will be properly barricaded, with traffic signs and safety devices installed prior to the commencement of works.
- Pedestrian walkways and designated crossing points will be provided at selected locations. Safety Officers and Traffic Controllers will be on site to assist pedestrians and motorists and to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow.
- Due to lane narrowing, traffic congestion is expected. Members of the public are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly when entering the CBD area.
- Pedestrians and motorists are advised to follow the directions of Traffic Controllers, RTB personnel, and Police officers at all times while works are in progress.
- Pedestrians are required to use only designated crossing points to ensure safety and minimise traffic congestion.
- The Traffic Management Plans are attached for reference. Additional signage may be installed as required, and the work schedule may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
Prefer to the attached Traffic Management Plan for details.
