CSSI Officers Complete Ethics, Integrity and Governance Course

Officers from the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) have successfully completed a three (03) days Ethics, Integrity and Governance for Public Service basic training course, held at the National Stadium in Honiara.

The course focused on key concepts and practical workplace applications related to ethics, integrity, and governance, including common ethical issues encountered within the public service.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of ethical principles and governance frameworks, while encouraging a strong commitment to upholding integrity within the public sector.

The module also highlighted important national institutions and legal frameworks, including provisions within the Solomon Islands National Constitution, the Leadership Code Commission, and the Ombudsman Office, along with other relevant legislation that supports and promotes ethical leadership and accountability in the public service.

These frameworks guide and regulate the conduct and behaviour of public officers, ensuring alignment with established ethics, integrity, and governance standards as outlined in the Public Service Act, General Orders, and applicable regional and international standards.

Speaking on behalf of the CSSI participants, Senior Sergeant Wilson Gege expressed appreciation to the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) staff for delivering and facilitating the important training.
