NTD manages the traffic flow at the HCM for road users

The National Traffic Department of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) worked very passionately to ensure traffic flow at the Honiara Central Market (HCM) on 4 April 2026.

The NTD of RSIPF are on the road as part of the police operation for the Easter to make sure the road is well managed for the road users.

Police appeal to passengers who normally use the bus stops to make your way straight to where you should wait instead of waiting at the entrance of the bus bay.

Bus drivers, please stop right at the picking and drop-off point, and don’t pick passengers up at the entrance of the bay close to the road going down to the market.

The traffic officers are ensured all drivers enjoy the traffic flow despite the heavy traffic jam at the HCM bus stop and junction going down to the market. This initiative aims to promote safer road conditions for all road users.

As part of the Easter operation, the police maritime department is also patrolling the Point Cruz harbor to make sure of the safety of all the boat operators. Guadalcanal police are also conducting vehicle checks at the Aligetor Creek, eastern side of the bridge as part of the operation.
