The Solomon Islands nationals living in our neighboring countries are keen to learn more about the SOL2023 Pacific Games through Solomon Islands Embassies at the Countries they live within the Pacific Community.
Reports received by the SOL2023 Pacific Games Office say that citizens living abroad are making general enquiries about the games from the Solomon Islands embassies.
Some are Solomon Islands Citizens who work or study overseas and are looking for opportunities to return to the country to watch the games, but some are athletes expressing interest to contact the Sports federations about opportunities to participate as part of Team Solomons.
One of the countries is our big brother PNG that has a lot of Solomon Islands studying and working there.
In a brief visit to the SOL2023 Pacific Games Office, the Solomon Islands High Commissioner to PNG his Excellency William Soaki, expressed his eagerness to learn about the proper communication channels in order to provide accurate information to Solomon Islands citizens enquiring in his Office about the SOL2023 Pacific Games.
In response, the SOL2023 Pacific Games Officials advised that the Games Organising Committee team is communicating with all Pacific Games Associations (PGAs) across the 24 countries that will participate in the 2023 Pacific Games.
The SOL2023 Pacific Games office welcomes queries directly from Solomon Islanders living abroad either through Facebook or Email infor@sol2023.com.sb. Those who enquire using this email are directed to the right persons who are in a better position to assist them.
All Solomon Islanders are happy hosts of the SOL2023 Pacific Games and the SOL2023 Pacific Games Office will extend its circulation of the monthly newsletter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade in order for the government to decide who to send the SOL2023 Pacific Games updates to within the Pacific Community and beyond.
