Honiara city continues to record the highest number of covid-19 infections with 4295 of the overall total of 5891 in the past 24 hours from 12pm on Monday 21 February.
This means Honiara city represents 75 percent of the total followed by Malaita Province with 703 cases, Western 243, Central Islands 232, Guadalcanal 191, Choiseul 124, Isabel 63 Makira 40 with Temotu and Rennell and Bellona remaining covid-19 free.
According Health and Medical Services Minister, Dr. Culwick Togamana, a total of 83 covid-19 related deaths have been recorded so far since the outbreak last month, however, not death was recorded in the last 24 hours to 12pm on Monday 21 February.
Meanwhile, 71 out of available 369 beds at the NRH are occupied by COVID positive patients. This accounts for 22% of all beds. 24 of these 71 COVD positive patients are at the Central Field Hospital and 47 at the NRH. There are currently 44 cases that are severe and 8 cases that are critical of COVID.
