Solomon Islands Expo Team arrive in Dubai
Solomon Islands Deputy Commissioner General and Pavilion Director Mr Dennis Auruesi Marita and Business Representative Bryan Keniasina arrived at Dubai International Airport on Saturday 16th October, 2021.
Solomon Islands Pavilion Media Liaison Officer Mr Kelepi Abariga and Volunteer Clement Tavoria greeted them on arrival before Commissioner General H.E. Moses Kouni Mose welcomed them at Residence 4E.
CG Mose said that with the arrival of his Deputy Commissioner General and the Business Representative, Team SI was now ready to embrace the many thousands of visitors that are expected to visit the Solomon Islands Pavilion during the next 6 months.
Meanwhile, the duo were welcomed by fellow wantoks in Abu Dhabi at a ceremony to introduce them to Dubai and the entire Expo mood.
Solomon Islands Commissioner General to the Expo 2020 Dubai, His Excellency Moses Kouni Mose together with Deputy Commissioner General and Director of Pavilion Mr Dennis Marita and Business Representative Bryan Keniasina were welcomed by two Families at the Luita residence in Abu Dhabi on Sunday 17th October,2021.
Kelepi Abariga and Joji Luita’s Great-Grandfathers were part of the group of Solomon Islanders taken to Fiji in 1864 and are proud to be part of the Solomon Islands contingent to the Expo 2020 Dubai.
SG Mose thanked the fellow Wantoks for the warm hospitality.
As fellow Melanesian’s from the Blue Pacific Ocean, the luncheon also included Fish in Coconut Cream and Cassava.
The event was a pleasure indeed for the two Solomon Island descendant families to welcome their fellow Wantoks the ‘Melanesian Way’ in the Deserts of the Emirates.
