ADVERTISEMENT – Job Vacancy

The Solomon Island Agriculture and Rural Transformation (SIART) Project, funded by the World Bank under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAL), is seeking expressions of interest for Young Professionals. The SIART Project’s objective is to increase agricultural production and improve market access in selected value chains in Guadalcanal, Malaita, and Makira/Ulawa. Additionally, the project ensures a prompt and effective response in the event of an Eligible Crisis or Emergency.

The project consists of four components:

  • Component 1: Agribusiness and Infrastructure Investments
  • Component 2: Institutional Capacity Development
  • Component 3: Project Management
  • Component 4: Contingent Emergency Response

The Project Management Unit (PMU) is responsible for coordinating and implementing the SIART Project. The vacancy details are as follows:

Position Title: Young Professionals
Positions Available: 20 (Guadalcanal: 3, Malaita: 10, Makira: 7)
Location: Guadalcanal, Malaita, Makira

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Diploma in Agriculture
  • 32 years of age or younger
  • Graduated within the last 5 years
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Willingness to work with Agribusiness Production Groups
  • Must be from one of the three provinces and willing to live in the village, working with farmers and ABPO members
