The Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) conducted a three days training for nineteen teachers from four schools in the Guadalcanal Education Authority, from the 25th to 27th June, 2024. The Microsoft Word 2016 training is scheduled for Guadacalanal Province teachers in the vicinity of Honiara. Teachers who attended come from Marara, Nguvia, Titinge and Lunga schools. This is a scheduled training facilitated by the IPAM ICT Unit.
In his closing remarks, the IPAM Director, Solomon Manea, reiterated that the teachers’ role is vital in educating citizens in the province and the nation, hence such trainings will support them to be efficient and effective in their roles. He urged them to make use of the acquired knowledge and skill from the training.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr. Gabriel Karahu, Deputy Headmaster of St. Mary primary school, thanked the Ministry of Public Service for the training, through IPAM. He stated that the use of computers is now increasing in schools, as such this training is really helpful. He said, this training should be delivered to many more teachers to develop their competency in using computers as a tool for work and for communication.
IPAM continues to conduct role-based trainings in leadership, supervisory development, corporate learning and induction and ICT skills and knowledge. These are scheduled in its annual prospectus.
