Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare“I am pleased that Caucus have resumed meetings for the first time since the community transmission and have discussed this policy shift. We had recently launched the Virtual Policy, which has enabled virtual meetings to take place despite restrictions on movement during recent weeks”
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare on Friday has announced the resumption of Government Caucus and Cabinet meetings since the covid-19 community outbreak last month.
Typical meetings by these two decision making bodies were temporarily suspend at the start of community transmission in Honiara in late January.
The resumption of meetings are critical to discuss and to make decisions on the Government’s new Community Transmission Response Policy.
“I am pleased that Caucus have resumed meetings for the first time since the community transmission and have discussed this policy shift. We had recently launched the Virtual Policy, which has enabled virtual meetings to take place despite restrictions on movement during recent weeks,” Sogavare said.
The Prime Minister said Cabinet will meet next week to discuss issues of national concern and Ministers who are not able to be physically present will join virtually.
The Democratic Coalition Government for Advancement (DCGA) remains intact and committed to serve our people and country during these difficult times.
