(CONSULTING SERVICES – SHORT TERM)

DESCRIPTION:  National Consultant to Coordinate the Development of Maritime Security Strategy 2024-2027

MTB Reference: MTB C13/24

The Solomon Islands Government through the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS), is seeking the Development of Maritime Security Strategy 2024-2027.

The Ministry of Police, National Security, and Correctional Services invites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing consultancy services for the Development of Maritime Security Strategy 2024-2027.

Interested consultants must provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the required tasks. The shortlisting criteria are as follows:

Qualification and Desirable Attributes

Qualification Outline for a Maritime Security Strategy Consultant;

1. Education and Training:
   • Advanced degree in maritime studies, international relations, security studies, economics or strategic planning, or a related field.
   • Specialized courses or certifications in maritime security, risk management, or counterterrorism.
2. Experience:
   • Proven track record in developing strategic plans or maritime security strategies for governments, international organizations, or private companies.
   • Experience in assessing and mitigating security risks in maritime environments.
   • Familiarity with international maritime laws, conventions, and regulations.
3. Skills:
   • Analytical skills to assess complex security challenges and devise effective strategies.
   • Strategic thinking to anticipate future threats and plan proactive measures.
