RECRUITMENT NOTICE

TEMPORARY POSITIONS FOR BIOMETRIC VOTER REGISTRATION 2023

 

The Solomon Islands Electoral Office in its Biometric Voter Registration process is seeking to recruit 50 Revising Officers (RVOs) and 185 Assistant Revising Officers (ARVOs) to undertake Omission and Objection phase of the BVR registration process in all Registration Centres throughout the country. Number of positions for each Provinces and Honiara City Council are as follows:

 Revising Officer Central Province 2
  • A Tertiary Degree or Diploma in Social Science with relevant law background is preferable or have good or fair experience in arbitration or conflict resolution and management, in the field of Law and Social Sciences or Development Work.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the Electoral System in the Solomon Islands.
  • Good understanding of the fundamentals of a free, fair, credible democratic election and strong leadership qualities.
  • Experience Revising Officers or Assistant Revising Officers in past voter registrations.
  • Must possess exemplary communication skills with a very high degree of confidence when dealing with voters, politicians and the public;
  • Demonstrated management capability and ability to carry out the functions of the Assistant Revising Officer as prescribed in the Electoral Act;
  • Demonstrable strong leadership qualities as candidate will represent the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) at the Constituency level.
  • Experience in community work negotiating community issues and understanding the context of our provinces, ethnicity, race, religion or gender
  • Not affiliation with any, political party, candidate, or have any political connection at all and must demonstrate experience of highest impartiality, neutrality and unbiased judgement possible, and must not be a consenting candidate for elections
