TEMOTU PROVINCE WORKS ON LAND USE POLICY
The Temotu Provincial Government is currently working on a Land Use Policy with the landowners to use their land for development.
Temotu Provincial Premier Honourable Clay Forau announced this when speaking during the Temotu 38th Second Appointed Day celebrations in Lata, Temotu Province last week.
Premier Forau said his Government believed with proper Land Use Policy, landowners would benefit from land development.
“It is quite a tough and sensitive issue to deal with land everywhere in the Solomon Islands.
“But we believe that with proper Land Use Policy, we can be able to use the land for development and allow the people to experience and enjoy the benefits of development,” said Premier Forau.
Meanwhile Premier Forau said Temotu Province invites local and international investors to invest in Province.
“We are trying our best to ensure Temotu Province becomes an investment destination.
“We invite local and international investors to come and invest in Temotu Province.
“Because of that, we become very careful in the way we address our investors here, even though we sometimes have problems,” he said.
Premier Forau further called on all Temotuans to allow their land for development.
“I wish to call on all Temotuans to understand that from today and onwards, the only way forward for us to broaden the base of our economy is that we must open up our land for local and international investors to invest in Temotu Province,” he said.
